A consummate leader in the NFL, Jim Kelly led the Buffalo Bills to four
back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, four consecutive AFC Championships, six
AFC East Championships and 23 fourth-quarter comebacks. In his ten years with
the Bills, he set every major passing record, and threw over 35,000 passing
yards and 237 touchdowns, establishing a career passing record of 84.4 percent -
the sixth highest in NFL history.Kelly was named Most Valuable Player in the 1991 Pro Bowl, one of his five Pro Bowl appearances. He also played for one season in the USFL as quarterback for the Houston Gamblers, and was named USFL Player of the Year. Since retiring from the NFL, Kelly has brought his love of sport to a national audience, joining ESPN's pregame show, NFL Countdown, and serving as NFL game analyst for NBC Sports.
Jim's many civic and charitable activities include the establishment of the
Kelly for Kids Foundation and service as national spokesperson for the
Children's Miracle Network. In addition, he hosts the Jim Kelly Celebrity Golf Tournament. Kelly and his friends from the sports and entertainment industries have gathered each year since 1987 to raise money for children's charities with a VIP gala and golf tournament. Through those efforts, Kelly for Kids Foundation and Hunter's Hope have distributed more than two million dollars for children's charities in Western New York. |
