Clark Kellogg Ohio | ||
A standout basketball player at Ohio State (1979-1982), Kellogg was the “Go To Guy” and led the Buckeyes in both scoring and rebounding as a sophomore and junior. He earned All-Big Ten and Most Valuable Player honors in 1982, when he averaged 16.1 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Following his junior year, he entered the NBA draft and was the number one pick of the Indiana Pacers. In his rookie season, he averaged 20.1 points and 10.6 rebounds and was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team. He played for five seasons with the Pacers before retiring with chronic knee problems.
Clark returned to school to continue his education and received his Marketing Degree from Ohio State in December 1996. Five years later, he was inducted into Ohio State’s Athletics Hall of Fame. Kellogg is actively involved in the community and commits his time and support to a number of laudable organizations including the Pacers Foundation, the Simon Youth Foundation, Athletes in Action, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Special K Elite Hoops Basketball Camp. In 2003, he was awarded the Coach Wooden "Keys to Life Award" which is given annually to a current or former player who best exemplifies outstanding character and leadership on and off the court. As a broadcaster, Clark Kellogg provides the "players perspective" during each telecast. His knowledge and experience of playing on the court is brought forth in an informative and enthusiastic style. His attempt to make the game fun for the fan, while providing information which will educate the viewer, is his goal for each telecast. |
